PALO ALTO, Calif. - The Utah track team completed the Stanford Invitational on Saturday with three athletes competing. All three Ute's set personal best marks in their respective events to cap off the two day invitational.
The day started off with Chelsea DiGrazia setting a lifetime best in the 1500m. DiGrazia ran a time of 4:30.85 which lands her fourth on the all-time Utah list in the event. She placed 12th in the b-section and just missed a regional qualifying time by three seconds.
Shayla Houlihan followed by setting a school record in the steeplechase with a time of 10:44.31. She finished eighth in the heat and her time was an NCAA regional qualifying time. Houlihan broke the prior school record by over six seconds.
The final Ute to compete was Lauren Endersen in the 5000m. Endersen set a personal best time of 17:22.63, which was 49 seconds faster than her previous best. She also landed seventh on the all-time Utah list in the 5000m.
"We had a great day today," comments head coach Kyle Kepler. "We had all three athletes set personal records and it capped off a weekend in which three of our women had regional qualifying marks. I'm pleased with our performance and am proud of how hard we competed. We had fun here and look forward to continuing our improvement in the coming weeks."
