FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The University of Utah women's tennis team knocked off another road win on Saturday as they faced the Colorado State Rams. The Utes earned a 5-2 victory to improve their season to 12-6 and are 3-1 in conference play.

"I thought the team competed fairly well in the windy outdoor conditions," said head coach Mat Iandolo. "We look forward to tomorrow's match. Hopefully we can go 3-0 for the weekend."

The Utes earned the doubles point to give them a 1-0 lead heading into singles play. Karine Bourdages finished up first for the Utes in singles play with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Greer Satherlie from the Rams at the No. 6 spot.

At the top spot, No. 60 Elizabeth Ferris polished a 6-2, 6-1 win over Colorado State's top player Hilary Tyler. Senior Emily Kwok took on Lauren Strasburger at the No. 3 spot for a well-played battle, earning a 6-4, 6-3 win over the Ram.

Erin Monson finished out the singles wins for Utah on Saturday at the No. 4 spot. The Ute faced Anette Pohjalainen for a tough two set battle, but Monson pulled through. Pohjalainen put up a strong fight in the first set, but the Ute had the final say and continued the momentum into the second set for the 7-5, 6-3 win.

The Utes will take on Wyoming on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. in Laramie, Wyoming.
