PROVO, Utah - The University of Utah turned in two sevens Saturday at the windblown Cougar Classic in Provo, Utah. The team finished in seventh place at seven-over-par.
"With the crummy conditions, we didn't play that bad," said head golf coach Randall McCracken. "We were all just kind of mediocre."
Nick Carter and Chance Cota paced the Utes with identical 22nd-place/one-over finishes, and Chris Gresh wasn't far behind, tying for 26th at two-over-par.
The Utes now face a must-win situation at the Mountain West Conference Championships April 24-26.
"If we want to get to regionals, we have to win," coach McCracken said. "We know that. Hopefully, we'll be ready."
