KAUAI, Hawaii- The University of Utah golf team completed the first round of the 2008 Kauai Collegiate Invite Monday in Kauai, Hawaii. The Utes ended the day in 11th place with a score of 294 strokes at 10 over par.
Chance Cota (San Diego, Calif.) is in fifth place shooting a score of 69 strokes at two-under-par. Freshman Kaleb Mahanes (Erie, Colo.) is tied for 38th place with a first-day score of 75 strokes, three-over-par.
Derek Adams (Lake Havasu, Ariz.) ended the first round tied for 52nd place at five-over-par with a score of 76.
Sophomore Jeff Kitches (Salt Lake City) is tied for 66th place after score of 79 in the first round at seven-over-par.
