TEMPE, Ariz. - University of Utah golfer Dustin Pimm (Jr., Sandy, Utah) completed his first round at the NCAA West Regional Championship Thursday under par. Pimm shot a two-under 70 at Arizona State's Karsten Golf Course.
With his 70, Pimm is tied for 40th place after one round. He is six strokes off the lead, currently held by Erik Flores of UCLA. Flores fired an eight-under 64 in his first 18 holes.
Pimm opened on the back nine at Karsten. He bogeyed a pair of par-three holes and had one birdie through his first nine. Pimm got three strokes back on the front nine, picking up birdies on a pair of par-fours and a par-five, getting to two-under for the day.
Pimm will play his second round Friday morning.
