RENO, Nev. -- The University of Utah placed fifth at the Wolf Pack Classic Tuesday at 10-over-par. The Utes entered the final round tied for third place with Kansas State. Though KSU fell out of contention the Utes were surpassed by San Diego State and New Mexico State in the final round. Arizona finished first at 14-under-par, posting an impressive 16-stroke victory over defending tournament champion Iowa State.
The Utes were paced by seniors Dustin Pimm and Nick Carter for the second straight day. Pimm's 71 Tuesday earned him a fourth place finish at four-under-par, while Carter's 73 tied him for eighth at two-under-par. Carter's eighth-place finish was his best of the season.
