THIS WEEK:
The University of Utah will compete Oct. 22-23 in the Sycuan Invitational in El Cajon, Calif. The tournament, hosted by San Diego State, will be held at Willow Glen Golf Club at the Sycuan Resort. The tournament will be the Utes' final fall event. Utah will be competing for the first time at the Sycuan Invitational. The 72-par tournament features 36 holes Monday and 18 holes Tuesday.

THE FIELD:
The field this week includes Air Force, Army, Cal Poly, Denver, Fresno State, Hawai'i, Missouri, Navy, New Mexico State, UC Riverside, UNLV, Utah, UTEP, San Diego State, Washington State, Wichita State, Wyoming and Yale. The field features five Mountain West Conference schools, three WAC schools and one school from both the Pac 10 and Big 12.

LAST WEEK:
Utah traveled to Reno to compete in the Wolf Pack Classic. The lineup for the Utes included Steve Broker, Nick Carter, Chris Gresh, Nic Larson and Dustin Pimm. Strong efforts by Dustin Pimm and Nick Carter helped the Utes remain in contention Monday, as the team finished the first two rounds tied for third place. Pimm carded a 69 in the first round and a 72 in the second to finish the day tied for fifth at three-under-par. Carter matched Pimm's score with a 71 in the first round and a 70 in the second. The duo played well in the final round, carding rounds of 71 and 73 respectively. Pimm finished tied for fourth, and Carter tied for eighth. The team slipped two spots in the final round to finish fifth at 10-over-par.

UTE NOTES:
Utah notched its third-consecutive top-five finish at the Wolf Pack Classic ... Utah has not finished out of the top 10 this fall ... Nick Carter's eighth-place finish at the Wolf Pack Classic was a career best ... The senior has a stroke average of 73.00, second best behind only Dustin Pimm who leads the team at 72.09 ... The Sycuan Invitational will be the Utes' final fall tournament ... The spring season starts Feb. 11-12 at the Pat Hicks Invitational.
