Ute Golfer Pimm Bows Out in Playoff

SUNRIVER, Ore. -- University of Utah golfer Dustin Pimm barely missed the cut for the final round of the NCAA Men's Golf Championship Friday. Pimm played his way into a seven-way playoff for four spots, but was eliminated on the first playoff hole.
Pimm started the day at even par, opening on the 10th hole. He was still even after a bogey and birdie in his first six holes. But a double-bogey on the par-three 17th left him 2-over, going into his final 10 holes.
A birdie on No. 4 pulled Pimm within one stroke of even par. He recorded a huge birdie on the par-four eighth hole, his second-to-last hole, to pull back to even par. Pimm then picked up a par on his final hole of the day, qualifying for the seven-way playoff.
However, in the playoff, he couldn't keep up his momentum and was eliminated from the championship. Prior to the playoff Pimm was tied for 21st place in the 156-player field.
