PROVO, Utah- The University of Utah track and field team wrapped up competition of the Mountain West Conference Championships today ending in 6th place. Among highlights, Jen Fresques regionally qualified in the 400m hurdles.
"I am extremely please with how the meet turned out," remarked head coach Kyle Kepler. "Our team really gave a tremendous effort, and I'm happy with their performance."
Jen Fresques became the newest Ute to qualify for the NCAA regionals with a 5th place finish in the 400m hurdles (60.42). Amanda Feigt was right behind her teammate, finishing 6th (60.75). AJ Roby placed 2nd in the shot put, obtaining a personal best mark of 47-03.50.
Mandie Rowell finished 7th in the triple jump, jumping 37-05.25. Janett Ern finished 6th in the 800m (2:17.21), and the 4x400m team finished 5th (3:47.03). Members of the team were Jen Fresques, Candice Mannion, Amanda Feigt, and Ashley Patterson.
In the 10,000m last night, Kellie Anderson finished 4th with a 7 second personal best time of 38:17.29.
"We had an all-around great meet," continued coach Kepler. "It was by far our best meet of the year. The women stepped up big time and brought home a ton of personal bests. I'm really excited about our overall finish and look forward to the upcoming NCAA Regional meet."
