POVO, Utah- The University of Utah track and field team wrapped up day two of competition at the Mountain West Conference Championships today. The Utes are currently in third place with Amanda Feigt's finish in the heptathlon.
"I am very excited about how this championship meet started," said head coach Kyle Kepler. "It's a great way to get things going. Amanda got things started off well for us and hopefully the rest of our team will follow suit and build on this momentum."
Feigt finished third in the heptathlon with 5,195 points, a new personal best. She had a solid long jump of 19-02.50, and obtained a 10-foot personal record mark in the javelin (107-10). Amanda also finished well in the 800m, placing 3rd (2:19.15).
"We hope to have an outstanding conference meet," continued Kyle Kepler. "We have a lot of work in front of us the rest of the meet, but we have some women who can get it done, and we're going to give it our best shot."
The MWC meet continues tomorrow, May 12 through Saturday, May13.
