ALBUQUERQUE- The final day of competition wrapped up Saturday for the Mountain West Conference Championships, with the Utes finishing in 6th place.
"We had another great day of competition," said head coach Kyle Kepler. "I'm really proud of the way we competed."
Janett Ern stepped up for the team, finishing 4th in the 800m (2:15.57). AJ Roby was another big competitor for the Utes, finishing 4th (44-03.25). Kellie Anderson and Ashlee Warnick stepped up in the 3000m, each getting personal best times. Anders on finished 17th (10:30.65) and Warnick 21st (10:39.21). Also, the 4x400m relay team (Patterson, Feigt, Mannion, and McAllister) obtained a season best time of 3:50.34 and finished 7th.
"Overall, I am very, very pleased with our performance this weekend," continued coach Kepler. "I think we gave everything we had, and although we had hoped to finish higher I can't be disappointed with the effort our team gave.
"It was a great start, and a great place to build from. This program is going to see better and brighter days very soon. We have a lot of women who work really hard, and I am excited for the future of Utah track and field."
