THIS WEEK:
The University of Utah Indoor Track and Field team will compete in two meets this weekend. A few athletes will compete in the 47th annual Mt. SAC relays on Friday, with competition continuing Saturday. Mount San Antonio College will host the event, featuring athletes from over 50 collegiate squads in Walnut, Calif.
The rest of the Utes will travel to Logan, for the Mark Faldmo Invitational. Competition will kick off on Saturday, at Utah State's Ralph Maughan Track Stadium.
FOLLOW THE MEET:
Complete results for the 47th annual Mount SAC Relays will be posted at Mt. SAC Relays Home Page.
Complete results for the Utah State Invitational will be posted at Utah State's Website.
QUOTING CO-HEAD COACH Tapio Kuusela:
"I have a gut feeling that this is the weekend to see a vast number of improvements by our athletes. Those athletes competing in California will have a chance to face the kind of competition they deserve and this should help them to break a couple of school records and qualify for the regional meet. If the weather is decent in Logan, I believe we will see several new personal records and all-time top 10 marks."
UTES TO WATCH:
Junior AJ Roby has taken gold in the discus in her previous two meets. The Porterville, Calif., native red-shirted last season after transferring from the College of Sequoias. Roby is one of Utah's best throwers in only her first year competing. Roby will look to continue her hot streak this weekend.
UPCOMING EVENTS:
Next up for the Utes is the Oregon Invitational in Eugene, Ore. Competition for the meet will kick off on Saturday, April 23.
