HONOLULU, Hawaii - The University of Utah men's golf team moved up one spot to 15th at the John A. Burns Invitational. The Utes shot s three-round score of 875 to finish 11 over par.
For the Utes, freshman Dustin Pimm continued his solid play after shooting a two under par 70 in the final round. Pimm finished at four under par (212), placing 23rd overall. Senior Ashdon Woods shot a even par score of 72 in the last two rounds, after opening the tournament at two under par (70). Woods finished tied for 33rd place at two under par (214)..
Steve Newren stumbled in the final round, taking four strokes over par after finishing at even par in the second round. Newren finished with an overall score of 223 (+7) to finish tied for 80th place. Nick Micek finished tied for 92nd after shooting a three-round score of 226 (+10).
Freshman Chris Gresh finished the final round with a score of 76 (+4) to tally a three-round score of 233 (+17).
The Utes compete next at the Braveheart Intercollegiate, held March 7-8 at the PGA Stadium Course of Southern California.
