Indoor Track to Kicks Off MWC Championships This Weekend

THIS WEEK:
The University of Utah Indoor Track and Field teams will kick off the 2004 Mountain West Conference Indoor Championships today in Colorado Springs, Colo. The U.S. Air Force Academy will host the 2005 Mountain West Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships February 24-26 at the Cadet Field House.

QUOTING CO-HEAD COACH Tapio Kuusela:
"Until this week we have been playing number games. We've cared about how far, how fast, and how many personal records, etc. This meet is about putting together everything we have learned this season and being able to do our best. If we can accomplish those two things, we'll score some points. I am personally very excited to see how this team does in the Conference meet, because it is similar to last year's team."

Next up for the Utes is the Intermountain Invite in Pocatello, Idaho. Competition for the meet will kick off on Friday, March 4.
