Salt Lake City - The University of Utah women's tennis team topped the University of Nevada 6-1 tonight at the Eccles Tennis Center. The Utes improve to 6-2 on the season.
Utah was the first to get on the scoreboard by winning the doubles point. At No. 1, Jen Wencel and Allison Hansen teamed up to defeat Nevada's Myriam Bouchlaka and Bach-Lan Pham (8-4). Utah duoof Cinthia Saucedo and Cheyenne Reveche downed Audrey Bardot and Christine Tilley at the No. 3 (8-4).
The Utes then tallied five straight singles wins. Whitney Eber played at the No. 1 for the first time this season. She picked up a (7-6(4), 6-1) victory over Fiorella Velez.
Tomorrow the Utes hit the home courts again with a matchup against Boise State at 5:00 p.m.
