CORVALLIS, Ore. -
The University of Utah men's golf team finished 12th at the Northwest Collegiate Classic, hosted by the Oregon State Beavers, at the 72-par Trysting Tree Golf Course. Utah shot a 302 (+18) in the final round, their worst round of the tournament, to slip from eighth to 12th place.
Nick Carter tied for 34th and was Utah's top finisher for the second straight tournament. Carter took four strokes over par in the final round (76). Senior Ashdon Woods finished the day at even par to jump to 46th and tie with fellow Ute Daniel Smith who was five-over par on the day. Woods finished tied for sixth with Carter at the Falcon Invitational.
Dustin Pimm finished one stroke back (223) from Woods and Smith to finish tied for 58th. Redshirt freshman Chace Bickmore finished tied for 74th after taking five strokes above par (80) in the final round.
Utah will take a break before traveling to the Ron Moore Intercollegiate that will be hosted by the University of Denver Sept. 27-28 in Brighton, Colo
