BEND, Ore. - The University of Utah men's golf team completed the final round of competition at the 2004 Mountain West Conference Championships on Saturday. Utah shot a final round one-over-par, 289. The Utes finished sixth overall with a final score of 15-over-par, 879 (293-297-289).
Ashdon Woods was the top Ute golfer, finishing in 14th-place. Woods finished at six-over-par, after shooting a final round one-under. He concluded the tournament with a score of 222 (74-77-71). Garrett Clegg shot a total score of seven-over-par, 223 (79-72-72), placing him 15th. Luke Swilor finished 20th with a nine-over-par, 225 (74-75-76). Carl Jensen came in 24th at 10-over-par, 226 (75-73-78) and Casey Fowles shot a final round 70, but due to a disqualification in the second round he did not place.
Ryan Moore of UNLV was the individual winner. He finished with a score of 10-under-par, 206 (70-69-67). New Mexico won the championship in a playoff after being tied with BYU at three-over-par, 867, through three rounds.
