LAS VEGAS, NEV. - The University of Utah women's tennis team dropped 7-0 to conference opponent UNLV at the Fertita Tennis Complex on Friday, March 26.
UNLV swept the doubles matches and earned the one point lead over Utah. In the singles, the Utes lost in straight sets at all positions. At the No. 1, senior Sheri Esrock fell (7-5, 6-3) to Gyorgyi Zsiros. Freshman Whitney Eber, playing at the No. 2, dropped (6-1, 6-3) to Agnieszka Abram and freshman Cinthia Saucedo crumpled (6-2, 6-1) at the No. 3 against Anna Claire Ortiz-Luis (6-2, 6-1). Senior Rachel Alder was downed (6-2, 6-0) by Cindy Treber at the No. 4, while Watts lost (6-1, 6-0) to Claire Smith at the No. 5. Sophomore Jenessa Jackson finished it off at the No. 6 with a (6-3, 6-5) loss to Mery Constanti.
