The University of Utah women's tennis team was crushed 7-0 by San Diego State University at a neutral site in Las Vegas.
Utah was dominated in thee doubles. Senior Sheri Esrock teamed up with freshman Whitney Eber at the No 1. The duo lost 8-2 to No. 25 ranked Katlina Romero and Indra Erichsen .Competing at the No. 2, senior Rachel Alder and sophomore Jenessa Jackson fell (8-2) to Dita Hauerlandova and Alesya Vidov. Freshmen Jessica Watts and Cinthia Saucedo fared well at the No. 3 but came up short against Sarah Sansom and Patricia Graf (9-8).
The Utes also posted losses at all singles positions. Esrock won the first set in her match against Hauerlandova, however, the Aztec rallied from behind to claim the victory (4-6, 7-5, (10-6)) at the No. 1. Saucedo was also up the first set at the No 3. Her opponent Erichsen came from behind to defeat Saucedo (0-6, 6-4, (10-4)). At the No. 2, Eber dropped (6-0, 6-2) to Romero and Alder was topped (6-1, 6-0) by Vidov at the No. 4. More losses came at the bottom of the lineup when Watts fell (6-3, 7-5) to Graf at the No. 5 and Jacskon fell (6-4, 6-3) to Julie Litrich at the No. 6.
