Rain Cancels Final Round of Wolf Pack Classic

RENO, Nev. - The final round of the 28th annual Wolf Pack Classic was cancelled Tuesday morning due to windy weather and rainy conditions. The results from the 36 holes played Monday are the final results. The University of Utah men's golf team finished tied for 12th at 14-over par (590) with Air Force.

Senior Ashdon Woods and junior Steve Newren tied for 25th at two-over par (146) to lead Utes. Woods and Newren both shot a 76 in the first round, but improved in the second round with a score of 70.

Freshman Chris Gresh finished tied for 43rd with a score of 149 to finish at five-over par. Dustin Pimm finished the first round at even par (72), but struggled in the second round taking eight strokes over par (80) to finish tied for 62nd with a score of 152. Senior Jake Sowby tied for 68th after shooting a 77 in both rounds to finish at 10-over par (154).

The Utes take a break before returning to action Nov. 8-9 at the Countrywide Intercollegiate hosted by Cal State Northridge at the Wood Ranch Golf Club.
