THIS WEEK
Utah runner Nellie Hammons will compete in the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Sacramento State University in Sacramento, Calif., this weekend. Competition for the 800-meter run begins on Wednesday, June 11 at 11:05 a.m. (PT). There will be four heats the first day. Those who qualify from Wednesday's heats will compete in one of two heats on Thursday, June 12 at 11:05 a.m. (PT). The championship race for the 800 will be held on Saturday, June 14 beginning at 8:20 p.m.
Hammons, a junior, qualified in the 800 by finishing fifth (2:07.47) at the NCAA West Regional on June 7 in Palo Alto, Calif.

HAMMONS' HIGHLIGHTS
*Broke her own school record in the 800-meter run with 2:07.08 at the NCAA West Regional Meet.
*Posted the fastest 800-meter run (2:07.91) during the conference season.
*Qualified for the NCAA West Regional in both the 800 meters (2:07.91) and 1,500 meters (4:31.27).
*Finished third in the 800 meters at the 2003 MWC Outdoor Championships with 2:08.37.
