GOODYEAR, Ariz. - The Utah men's golf team concluded the Grand Canyon Thunderbird Invitational on Tuesday. The Utes shot a team score of four-over-par, 868 (285-297-286), good enough for fifth place. Luke Swilor was the top Ute finishing fifth individually and shooting a three-under, 212 (68-75-70), five strokes back of the winner.
Ashdon Woods shot a one-under, 215 (72-73-70), good for 10th, Casey Fowles added a four-over, 220 (73-73-74), finishing 25th. Garrett Clegg finished with a six-over, 222 (74-76-72) and Steve Newren added a eight-over, 224 (72-77-75).
This tournament marks the fifth time this year Utah has finished in the top five as a team. Next up for the Utes is the Cougar Classic on April 25-26.
