Wahiawa, Hawaii- After the second day of competition at the John Burns Intercollegiate the Utah golf team is in sixth place overall with a team score of three-under-par 573 (287-286). Freshman Casey Fowles is in first place and has a two-stroke lead over the rest of the field with his seven-under 137 (69-68).
Garrett Clegg is in 16th with a two-under 142 (69-73), Luke Swilor finished the second round with a score of 147 (75-72), three-over-par, leaving him in a tie for 48th along with Carl Jensen who also has a two-round total of 147 (74-73). Steve Newren is at eight-over with his score of 152 (76-76).
Arizona continues to lead the tournament with a team score of 563, 13-under. San Diego State and SMU are tied for second at 10-under (566). The final round of the tournament will begin on Friday at 7:30 a.m.
