THIS WEEK:
Utah will travel to Brighton, Colo. for the Rocky Mountain Invitational on Monday, Sept. 30 - Tuesday, Oct. 1. The Utes line-up this week includes Luke Swilor, Garrett Clegg, Carl Jensen, Steve Newren and Casey Fowles.
THE OPPOSITION:
The Rocky Mountain Invitational consists of 14 teams; among the competition is UTEP who won the Falcon Invitational last week. The University of Denver will host the tournament at the Riverdale Dunes Golf Course. Play begins at 8:00 a.m. on Sept. 30.
REVIEWING LAST WEEK:
Utah finished in fifth place at the Falcon Invitational with a total score of 26-over-par (890). The Utes led the tournament after the first day and were third after day two. Leading the Utes was Garrett Clegg in a tie for seventh by finishing three-over-par (219), Carl Jensen finished with a four-over (220), leaving him in a tie for 10th. Steve Newren tied for 32nd with a nine-over (225), Ashdon Woods tied for 66th with his 15-over (231), and Casey Fowles had a 17-over (233).
UTE NOTES:
This is the third tournament of the season for the Utes. They are coming off their best finish of the season at the Falcon Invitational.
QUOTING HEAD COACH WAYNE FISHER:
"It is a new tournament that we have not been to before, with new facilities and we are not sure what to expect. Coming off of last week's good performance we have lots of confidence and are excited to play again."
