THIS WEEK: The Utes will travel to Colorado Springs, Colo. for the Falcon-Antigua Invitational. Play will begin on Sept. 20-22. This week's line-up includes Casey Fowles, Carl Jensen, Garret Clegg, Steve Newren and Ashdon Woods.
THE OPPOSITION: The Falcon Antigua Invitational field consists of 24 teams and play will be held at the Air Force Academy's Eisenhower Golf Course.
REVIEWING LAST WEEK: The Utes are coming off a 15th place finish at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate last weekend, with a 43-over-par (907). Utah was led by Steve Newren who shot 8-over-par (224) and finished tied for 42nd. Two Utes tied for 63rd, Casey Fowles and Garrett Clegg each finished with a 13-over (229). Nick Summers put up a 15-over (231) good for a tie in 70th, and Luke Swilor rounded out the team with a 17-over (233).
UTE NOTES: Utah golf opened their season in Albuquerque, N.M. last week at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate. This will be the Utes second tournament they will golf this year.
QUOTING HEAD COACH WAYNE FISHER: "We are looking to improve from what we learned last weekend. The field won't be as tough this week and we usually perform very well in Colorado Springs."
