GOODYEAR, Ariz.- The University of Utah men's golf team finished the first day of competition in sixth place at the Thunderbird Invitational. The Utes finished with a two round score of 582. CSU-Bakersfield has the lead going into the final round with a score of 558.
Luke Swilor and Ashdon Woods finished in the top-twenty to lead Utah into the final round. Swilor finished tied for 15th with a first round score of 76 (four-over-par) and a second round score of 67 (five-under-par). Woods finished tied for 20th taking only 68 strokes in the first round (four-under-par) and 77 in the second round (five-over-par).
Nick Summers finished tied for 24th at three-over-par, while Paul Winterowd finished tied at 48th at six-over-par. Nick Micek finished tied for 73rd at 11-over-par.
