CALIMESA, Calif.- The University of Utah men's golf team finished the first day of competition at the Anteater Invitational in 13th place. The Utes shot a two-round score of 623 (47-over-par). St. John's University holds the lead going into the final day of competition with a score of 578 (two-over-par).
For the Utes, Luke Swilor is tied for 43rd place. Swilor finished the day eight-over-par (152) after shooting a 74 in the first round and a 78 in the second round. Senior Paul Winterowd is tied for 60th place with a score of 157 (13-over-par), while Nick Micek and Jason Shepherd tied for 64th place, just two shots behind Winterowd. Bruce Summerhays finished the day tied for 69th place taking 160 strokes (16-over-par).
