ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- The University of Utah men's golf team finished 19th in its first tournament of the season. The Utes finished with a three round score of 922, 59-over par at the Championship Course in Albuquerque, N.M.
Utah was led by senior Paul Winterowd who shot the low round for the Utes with a 74 in his first round. Winterowd finished at 13-over par in three rounds finishing in a tie for 67th place overall. Nick Summers in his debut as a Ute finished at 16-over par in three rounds and tied for 81st overall. Sophomore Luke Swilor finished tied for 85th overall with a score of 17-over par. While Bruce Summerhays finished tied for 89th overall with a score of 18-over par.
After shooting 302 and 308 in the first two rounds, the Utes entered the final round tied at 18th place with Air Force. Utah shot a 312 in the final round to be bumped by Air Force to 19th place
