SAN DIEGO, Calif.--After completing half of it's events at the Mountain West Conference Championships, the Utah Women's Track and Field team is in fourth place with 36 points. Leading the Utes were Johanna Nielsen and B.J. Christenson who earned all-conference honors for finishing in the top-three of their events. Nielsen posted 35:28.60 minutes in the 10,000-meter run to finish third. Nielsen and the two finishers above her broke the meet record of 36:23.98 set at the 2000 MWC Outdoor Championships. Christenson achieved all-conference status after finishing second in the 3,000-meter steeple chase in 9:03.00. Christenson was one of three steeple chase runners to break the meet record of 9:04.69 set in 2000. The conference championships conclude May 19.
