The Utah golf team picked up their second straight top-10 finish with a ninth place finish at the Anteater Invitational. Utah went 403-306-300 for a three-round score of 910, 46-over par. UTEP won the tournament with a score of 885, 21-over par.
Ryan Ellis was the top Ute with his 7-over par, 223 (71-77-75). He finished tied for ninth, giving him back-to-back top-10 finishes. Ellis currently leads the Utes with an average finish of 33.6 and an average round of 75.0. Paul Winterowd also finished in the top-25 with his 228. Winterowd went 79-74-75 for a 12-over par score.
Luke Swilor tied for 40th with a score of 232 (78-90-75), 16-over par. The 40 th place finish was a career-best for Swilor. Brock Padilla tied for 45th, shooting a 17-over par 233 (78-80-75). Shawn Edwards rounded out the Ute finishers with his 234 (77-76-81), 18-over par. Edwards finished tied for 50th. Nathan Fritz of UTEP won the event with a 1-over par 217 (74-71-72).
