The University of Utah men's golf team finished 18th in its first tournament of the season. The team finished with a three round score of 909, 45-over par. The Utes were led by seniors Shawn Edwards and Ryan Ellis, who both tied for 43rd with a score of 223. Edwards shot the low round of the tournament for the Utes, a 70 in the first round. Freshman Luke Swilor tied for 89th in his Utah debut, with a 232, including a 2-over par 74 in the second round. Jason Shephard tied for 99th with a 234, and Paul Winterowd tied for 102nd with a 235. After shooting 296 and 295 in the first two rounds, the Utes finished the tournament with a 318.
