Albuquerque, N.M. - The University of Utah men's golf team is in seventh place following round one of the William H. Tucker golf tournament. The Utes' score is an 8-over 296, 16 shots behind leader Brigham Young. Shawn Edwards shot a 2-under 70 to lead the Utes. He was followed by Ryan Ellis with a 1-under 71. Three other Utes are competing in the tournament, Paul Winterowd shot a 76, while Jason Shephard and Luke Swilor finished at 79. The leader is Billy Harvey of Brigham Young at 5-under. Second round play was halted due to darkness, with about 25 percent of the field still on the course. Teams were scheduled to play 36 holes on Friday, but it took nearly six hours to complete the first round. Play will begin at 7:30 a.m. (MDT) on Saturday with the conclusion of the second round, and the third and final round.
