PALM DESERT, Calif.-- The University of golf team placed sixth (899) at the inaugural Mountain West Conference Golf Championship at the PGA West Nicklaus Golf Course on Wednesday. Utah had two golfers finish in the top 20. Junior Ryan Ellis finished the tournament at +2 to take 11th place (76-71-71=218). Junior Shawn Edwards placed 19th shooting 222 (72-76-74) and 6-over par. Senior Gregg Oliphant placed 25th (77-74-76=227) followed by Clint Christiansen in 33rd place (83-78-73=234) and Brock Padilla in 37th place (84-76-77=237). UNLV won the tournament (845) and all five UNLV players finished in the top 10.
