PROVO, Utah - The University of Utah golf team placed 10th at the Ben Hogan Cougar Classic Saturday to close out their regular season schedule. The Utes shot 880 as a team and finished at +16. Utah was led by Ryan Ellis who finished 1 under for the tournament to place 11th. Senior Gregg Oliphant shot 221 (74-72-75) to place 37th. Shawn Edwards finished 53rd (74-76-75*225) and Jake Sowby placed 58th (74-74-78*226). Brock Padilla finished 64th (76-80-71*227) and Jason Shepherd placed 92nd (85-80-79*244).
Utah will compete in the Mountain West Conference Tournament at the PGA West Resort Course May 1-3 in Palm Desert, Calif.
