The University of Utah men's golf team finished seventh in a field of 14 at the 2000 Aztec Invitational played on the SCGA Members' Club in Murrieta, California. The Utes' three round score of 882 (298-293-291) was their best of the season. The team also shot a final round of 291, another season best.
Three Utes finished in the top 20, led by Paul Winterowd. Winterowd shot a 3-over par 219 (74-71-74) to finish tied for 12th. Shawn Edwards and Ryan Ellis each shot a 220 for a 17th place finish. Brock Padilla placed 40th with a score of 226, and Jason Shepherd finished 67th with a 236.
Host school San Diego State won the tournament with an 18-under par 846.
This was the last tournament of the fall season for the Utes. In the five tournaments in which they competed, they came away with two top 10 finishes and four top 15 finishes. Individually they had one top 10 finish and four top 20 finishes.
