The NCAA named the All-America skiers for the season on Wed., Mar. 31, and the R.M.I.S.A. all-conference skiers for the year. Six University of Utah skiers were chosen as either first or second team All-Americans, as well as six more that received all-conference honors.
For the third time of their careers, brothers Rune and Frode Kollerud were honored to the first-team All-America Nordic Men's Team. This was the Kollerud's final year of eligibility, after having completed very distinguished careers at Utah. One highlight was at this year's NCAA Championships when they finished first and second in the 10K freestyle cross country race.
Freshman Elizabeth Sherry also qualified to the All-America first team for the women's alpine. Sherry skied well at this year's NCAA Championships taking fifth place in the slalom and seventh in the giant slalom.
The second-team All-America honorees from Utah were Ryan Forsyth and Scott Woodland for the men's alpine team, and Sabrina Lawrence from the women's alpine team.
Four Utah skiers were named to the all-conference team. Scott Woodland was named to the men's alpine first team, and Markus Leunig, Sabrina Lawrence and Tina Kavcic were named to the men's and women's alpine second team. Frode and Rune Kollerud were the Utah skiers named to the all-conference cross country first team.
