Simonich to Sit Out Men's Cannon IV Classic

SALT LAKE CITY - All-American Jeff Simonich will not compete in the Cannon IV Classic in Indianapolis this weekend due to the flu.

"Jeff has been in bed all week so I pulled him from the race," said Head Coach Mike Jones.

Simonich was going to try and reach a national qualifying mark in the mile in order to compete at the NCAA National Indoor Championships in March. Simonich will have one more opportunity to qualify at the Mountain State Games in Pocatello, Idaho, on Feb. 12-13. Simonich has already qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 3,000 meter event.
