Simonich, Tidwell to Compete in NCAA Championship

Simonich will compete in the 5,000 meter run on Friday at 9:05 p.m. He is currently ranked seventh in the country with a time of 13:44.59. Tidwell will compete in the 400 meter dash and the long jump. She is ranked 11th in the nation in the 400 meters with a time of 52.75 and 21st in the long jump at 20' 7.75".
Tidwell will compete in the 400 meter semifinals on Thursday at 6:10 p.m. with the final on Saturday at 6:50 p.m. The long jump is scheduled for Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. Head Coach Mike Jones believes Tidwell will have her highest mark in the 400 meters. "She's going to have a difficult time in the long jump ranked 21st because that was the cut off mark. She'll stand a good chance in the 400 meters and probably have her best performance in that event."
Jones thinks that Simonich is up to the challenge of running his last race as a Ute. "Jeff should have a good race when he goes head to head with the top collegiate runners in the country."
