FRESNO, Calif.-- The University of Utah golf team placed eighth at the Fresno Lexus Golf Classic hosted by Fresno State on Saturday. The Utes finished the 16-team tournament at 13-over-par. Utah was led by Ryan Ellis who placed 16th individually (74-68-71--213) to finish 3-up in the two-day tournament. Shawn Edwards finished 24th (74-69-74--217) at 1-over-par. Gregg Oliphant placed 42nd, followed by Brock Padilla placing 59th, Clint Christiansen placed 66th and Lance Edwards came in 75th.
Up next for Utah is the Countrywide Invitational Oct. 18-19 hosted by Cal State Northridge.
