Men's Golf Finishes Seventh At Wolf Pack Classic

CARSON CITY, Nev.-- Utah junior Shawn Edwards finished second in a sudden death playoff at the Wolf Pack Classic Tuesday. After 18 holes, Edwards was tied for first place at three-under-par (71, 72, 67).
It took four holes for Ryan Nelson of Portland to finally beat Edwards with a birdie. Edwards battled his way into the lead Tuesday after ending the day in sixth place at one-over-par after two rounds of play on Monday.
Ute Ryan Ellis was in seventh place (71, 73) after two rounds Monday at two-over, but finished the tournament in fourth place after shooting a 70 during the final round.
The Utes placed seventh out of 18 teams overall. Gregg Oliphant finished in 56th place for Utah, followed by Brock Padilla placing 67th and Lance Richards placing 75th.
Utah travels next to Fresno, Calif., to participate in the Fresno Lexus Golf Classic Oct. 15-16.
