Patrick Nowlin was hired by Mark Harlan as Utah’s first Chief Revenue Officer, and began his duties as Deputy A.D./CRO on Oct. 1, 2024. Nowlin, who previously served as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Revenue Generation and Business Innovation at Notre Dame from 2022-24 leads the Utes’ revenue-generating initiatives, developing creative and innovate paths toward new revenue-generation streams to enhance student-athletes’ opportunities to compete at the highest levels.
Nowlin’s position is designed to take a comprehensive and innovative approach to harnessing and maximizing existing revenue streams while pursuing and unlocking potential new avenues and opportunities across corporate, sponsorship, NIL, media rights and digital media environments.
In his role at Notre Dame, Nowlin developed and implemented revenue and business strategies, and drove innovation across the athletics department. His role included oversight of various departments, including sales, service, premium seating, ticket operations, marketing, revenue analytics, and business innovation, and serving as sport administrator for the baseball program. Nowlin successfully led the business strategy that resulted in the largest revenue-producing year in Notre Dame’s history.
Prior to Notre Dame, Nowlin served in several positions at the University of Oklahoma from 2014-22. He began as Assistant A.D. for Ticketing before being promoted to Assoc. A.D. for Revenue Generation and ultimately as Senior Associate A.D. for Fan Engagement. He was responsible for aligning revenue streams and enhancing fan engagement across athletics, involving direct oversight of multimedia rights, licensing, data analytics, marketing, ticketing, and fan engagement. He had previous served for two years as IMG Learfield’s General Manager of Ticket Sales and Service for Oklahoma (2013-14), earning General Manager of the Year and Property of the Year at Learfield during his tenure.
Nowlin previously served as IMG Learfield Senior Account Executive at Auburn (2012-13) and as an Account Executive for the Nashville Predators (2011-12). He earned a M.S. in Sport Management and a B.S. in Science (Recreational Administration emphasis) from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
Originally from Columbia, Tenn., Nowlin and his wife Diana have two children, Camden and Lillian.
