- Iowa State has an advantage of 5-2 in the series. Both of Utah's wins over the Cyclones have come on the road.
- Wide receiver Braden Pegan caught a touchdown reception and had an interception in the game. He is the first Utah player since at least 1995 to accomplish this feat.
- Morgan Scalley is the first Utah head coach since Jim Fassel (1985) to win his first five games at the helm of the Utes.
- Utah has won 12 straight games when winning the turnover battle (dating back to the 2024 season finale at UCF). Today, the Utes had two interceptions without committing a turnover.
- Iowa State won the coin toss and deferred to the second half. Utah defended the South goal to begin the game.
 Offense
- Quarterback Devon Dampier was 18-of-27 passing for 206 yards and two touchdowns, while tallying 21 rushing yards. He is 14-2 as the starter at Utah and has thrown multiple touchdown passes in 10 straight games.
- Running back Wayshawn Parker had a career-high 239 all-purpose yards (174 rushing, 65 receiving). It was the most by a Utah player since Britain Covey had 252 total yards in the Rose Bowl at the end of the 2021 season.
- Parker's 174 rushing yards were the most by a Utah player since Micah Bernard racked up 182 yards against Oklahoma State on Sept. 21, 2024.
- Parker sprinted off for a 54-yard touchdown on the first play of the game. The last time Utah scored a touchdown on the first play from scrimmage was in 2023 vs. UCLA, when linebacker Karene Reid had a pick-six. It was also Parker's longest rush of the season.
- Utah has scored a touchdown on all four of its game-opening drives this season.
- Parker had two receptions for 16-plus yards as well as two rushes for 25-plus yards.
- Pegan has made at least one reception in 16 consecutive games played. His touchdown reception capped off a nine-play, 90-yard drive which was the longest for the Utes since a 95-yard drive against Nebraska in last season's Las Vegas Bowl.
- Offensive lineman Kelvin Obot made his first collegiate start, earning the nod at left guard.
Defense
- The Utah defense held Iowa State to a combined 0-for-7 on third-down attempts in the first half.
- Linebacker Johnathan Hall tied his season-high with eight tackles.
- Trey Reynolds matched his career-best with two TFLs while tying Hall for the team-lead with eight stops.
- Elijah Elliss picked up his second sack of the season. He now as at least 0.5 TFLs in all four of Utah's games in 2026.
- Jackson Bennee pulled in his team-high second interception of the year.
- Cyrus Polu fielded a short opening kickoff and returned it 36 yards to set up Wayshawn Parker's game opening touchdown. It was Utah's first kick return of the season, the longest of Polu's career and tied for the longest by a Utah player since the 2023 season (Smith Snowden also had a 36-yard return during 2024).
- Orion Phillips punted four times for 115 yards and dropped two of his kicks inside the 20.
- Dillon Curtis remained perfect in PATs, going 4-for-4, while knocking through his fourth field goal of the season from 27 yards.
