Paul Hornung Award Names Jackson Bennee to Watch List

Award given to most versatile player in college football
Louisville, Ky. — Utah junior safety Jackson Bennee has been named to the Paul Hornung Award Watch List, the Louisville Sports Commission announced on Monday.
The Paul Hornung Award presented by Texas Roadhouse is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football. The award was created by the LSC in 2010 with the support of Hornung, considered by many the most versatile player in the history of college and pro football.
The winner of the 17th Paul Hornung Award will be announced as part of the ESPN Home Depot College Football Awards Show held on Dec. 10.
Bennee played in all 13 games in 2025, making 11 starts on defense and three on offense. He led the secondary and ranked second on the team with 64 tackles (4.0 TFL, 0.5 sack) on the way to All Big-12 Honorable Mention recognition, while also being the Utes' Burlsworth Trophy nominee.
The Holladay, Utah native tied for fourth in the Big 12 with four interceptions a year ago. His 103 return yards ranked second in the league (trailing only teammate Elijah Davis who had 162).
Showing his versatility, Bennee was one of just 15 FBS players to have multiple blocked kicks, getting a hand on a field goal vs. Arizona State and batting down a punt vs. Colorado. On offense, Bennee had two rushing attempts for 15 yards and three catches for 18 yards.
