Utah Set to Play Cal in NCAA Tournament First Round

SALT LAKE CITY — Utah women's tennis has punched a ticket to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in the Power 4 Era and are set to take on Cal in the First Round hosted by USC on Friday, May 1 at 12 p.m. (MT).
The Utes boasted a 15-9 overall and went 8-5 in Big 12 play. Utah also posted a 10-2 home record with Sara Akid and Kaila Barksdale both going undefeated at home.
The last time Utah made the NCAA Tournament was in 2012. Utah defeated Texas Tech 4-3 in the First Round before falling to Miami 4-0 in the Second Round.
Utah is heading into the NCAA Tournament as the No. 39 Ranked team.
