EL SEGUNDO, Calif. – Utah men's basketball assistant coach
Raphael Chillious has been invited to the 4th Annual Silver Waves Media Power Lunch at this year's Final Four (April 2) in Indianapolis, Ind.
Since its inception, the power luncheon has connected the nation's top-75 assistant coaches with director of athletics, men's basketball sport supervisors and the top-5 search firms in college athletics – which has resulted in dozens of those in attendance becoming head coaches at the Division I level.
Chillious wrapped up his first season at Utah under first-year head coach
Alex Jensen. The Maryland native has been integral at every stop he's had in his career – which includes Washington, Villanova, UConn and East Carolina. Chillious was also dominant at the prep level, coaching South Kent to multiple state championships.
A widely regarded evaluator and recruiter, Chillious has helped put together top-25 recruiting classes at every stop in his career. Prior to joining the Runnin' Utes in 2025-26, he served as an NBA Scout for the Memphis Grizzlies.
Of the 75 assistant coaches that will be on hand, eight hail from the Big 12 Conference – including Iowa State assistant JR Blount, who was recently named the head coach for the University of San Diego. The 2025 luncheon led to 12 assistants being hired on as head coach for the 2025-26 campaign – including two Power Conference programs.
