PARK CITY, Utah –
Johs Braathen Herland was back on the podium with a third-place giant slalom finish for the Utah Ski Team in a giant slalom race on Monday from the Spencer F. Eccles Olympic Mountain Center at the Utah Olympic Park.
On the women's side,
Kaila Lafreniere reset her season-best with a top-six GS result.
Though Utah hosted today's races, they were both RMISA Qualifiers and therefore not scored as part of the Utah Invitational.
Women's Race
Kaila Lafreniere led the Utes and set a season-best with her sixth-place result (2:10.21). It was Lafreniere's third top-10 of the season and second straight day with a season-best; she placed eighth in yesterday's GS.
Maisie Blyth finished in a tie for 11
th (2:10.91) and
Maddie Kaiserman took 14
th (2:11.13) to set a career-best.
Christina Jacobsen (2:14.50) closed out the Utah lineup in 26
th.
Men's Race
Johs Braathen Herland was on the podium for the second straight day and ninth time this season as Herland took bronze with a time of 2:07.18.
Sindre Myklebust landed in the top-five (2:08.02) as Utah's leading men's finishers were in the top-four at the midday flip.
Harry Hoffman was 15
th to wrap up the day for the Utes.
Next Up
Tuesday's schedule will conclude the Utah Invitational with slalom races. First run has been moved up to 8 a.m. due to anticipated weather conditions.
