SALT LAKE CITY— The University of Utah women's tennis team battled against the University of Washington this Friday afternoon in Seattle. The Utes would fall 4-2 against the Huskies, bringing the Utes' season record to 6-2.

DOUBLES
In doubles action, the Washington Huskies captured victories on courts No. 1 and No. 3 to secure the doubles point.

The match on court No. 2 was left unfinished with Utah's
Sara Akid and
Emmie Moore leading 5-3.

SINGLES
The Huskies picked up a win on court No. 6 to start singles action. At the No. 4 spot, Utah's Akid defeated Huskies Jermine Sherif, 6-1, 6-3 to give the Utes their first point of the duel. The Huskies would defend and grab a win on court No. 2.

Utah's
Kaila Barksdale battled at the No. 3 spot against UW's Alexia Jacobs. Barksdale fell in the first set, 6-1, but came back, 6-3, 6-2, to capture the point for the Utes.

The Huskies would clinch the overall match point on No. 5, bringing the overall duel score to 4-2.

The Utes are now 6-2 on the season.
UP NEXT
The Utes will face the San Diego Toreros in a neutral match tomorrow, Feb. 21 at 2 p.m. MST before starting conference play begins next week in Houston.
