TUCSON - The University of Utah women's tennis team fell to No. 26 Arizona 4-0 on Saturday afternoon, dropping to 5-6 overall and 0-2 in Big 12 play.
The Utes ran into trouble early in doubles, as Arizona secured wins on the No. 1 and No. 3 courts to claim the doubles point.
Utah struggled to gain momentum in singles play. The Wildcats extended their lead with victories at No. 5 and No. 6 before clinching the match on the No. 4 court.
Emma Kamper was leading 6-1, 6-5 at No. 1 when play was halted. Meanwhile, Sara Akid had claimed her first set and was locked in a third-set battle when the match was clinched.
NEXT UP
The Utes will next return to Salt Lake City for Big 12 home matches against Texas Tech on March 6 and Colorado on March 8.
