SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah swim and dive program wrapped up the 2025 portion of its schedule on Monday with a pair of wins inside Ute Natatorium.
The men's team improved to a perfect 4-0 record in dual meets with a 165-59 victory behind six event sweeps, while the women of Utah claimed their second win of the campaign, beating the Rainbow Wahine, 126-98.
"I thought today was a really good meet," head coach
Jonas Persson said. "We weren't predicted to win on the women's side and we did, which was really nice, and the men did their job and exceeded as well. I'm really happy with how we ended off our winter break training and am pleased with where we're at – we obviously have things to work on, but overall I think we are in a great spot."
Erin Palmer paced all Utah swimmers with 18 points thanks to wins in the 50 Free and 100 Breast, while
Isabella Riso and
Megan Legarth came away with nine points apiece.
Nolan Arnholt,
Nick Chirafisi,
Caleb Gallagher,
Strahinja Maslo,
Winston Sundeen and
Evan VanBrocklin tied for the team lead on the men's side with nine points, each taking home a gold medal.
Utah claimed eight of 12 podium spots on the springboards.
Callie Eaglestone swept the women's competition with
Kathryn Grant finishing just behind her in second on both boards, and
Emilia Nilsson Garip made her season debut with a third-place finish.
Elias Petersen logged a pair of top-two results for the men's side.
"I'm really proud of our performance at this meet," head diving coach
Richard Marschner said. "It's really hard to keep focus at this time of year and they dove really, really well. We had a lot of personal bests or close to it, which was a really nice way to end the semester and head into break."
