SALT LAKE CITY – Utah cross country junior
Bri Rinn led the way for the Utes on Thursday in their lone home meet of the year, finishing second-overall at the Utah Scenic West Open in Sugar House Park.
Rinn was in the runner-up spot fairly early on in the race and held her position for the entire 5k before finishing with a PR time of 18:37.38. Meanwhile, freshman
Lauren Ayers posted a mark of 19:24.24 in the first 5k to place 11th-overall.
Fellow freshman
Josie Fale was the third Ute to cross the finish line with a time of 20:38.04 and would be followed by SLC native
Grace Burnett at 21:03.16.
The sixth-ranked Women of Utah now turn their attention towards their inaugural Big 12 Championships debut next Friday, Nov. 1, at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course. Gun is slated to go off at 9 a.m. (MT) / 10 a.m. (CT) for the women.
